Long Itchington Young Farmers Club

What's it all about?

Long Itchington YFC is 1 of 10 Clubs in Warwickshire.

Members are aged between 10 and 26 and they meet weekly on a Wednesday. YFC stands for Young Farmers' Clubs. It is one of the largest rural youth organisation in England. It is dedicated to support young people in agriculture and the countryside, but you don't have to be a farmer to be a Young Farmer.

You name it, YFC do it and members can get involved in many activities. One of the first things you'll find is that Young Farmers' is run by the members for the members!! Each Club elects a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Programme Secretary, Social Secretary and many more postitions to form a committee, and together all members decide what they'd like to do and then arrange it.

Club programmes are so varied that there is usually something for everyone!

By becoming a YFC member you also have the opportunity to go to one of the many social events that are organised. There is usually something on every Friday or Saturday night throughout the year.

Competitions also play a major part in YFC life and you're bound to want to have a go yourself. You'll find at least one event you can't resist and you only have to talk to one of our members to know that it's pretty addictive once you've started! It doesn't matter how old you are (providing you are in membership age), how fit you are or what skills you already have. They're open to everyone and there is always someone who can show you how and help you get the skills you need to take part. From sports to public speaking, stock judging to house-crafts, there really is something for everyone!
